Tools Needed
Our Jewellery School is very well equipped with all jewellers workshop essentials.
For weekly classes you will need a toolbox with your own personal goldsmith's hand tools. A basic tool list will be issued to you upon enrolment.
A hire toolbox is included in the cost of the Beginners Course.
Jewellery Quarter Parking
Vyse St Multi Storey car park 2 mins walk from SoMJ - All Day.
Graham St Ramgarhia Sikh temple - All Day.
Nearest street parking is;
Vittoria st - 4 hr return
Warstone Lane - 2hr return
There is numerous more parking around the Jewellery Quarter
(parking fees apply as per Birmingham Council)
The Jewellery Quarter is a Clean Air Zone, charges may apply, Check your vehicle
First Aid
There is a qualified First Aider in the workshops at all times.
Lunchtime
There are many fabulous cafes, restaurants and shops in the JQ that cater for all tastes and budgets, there is also a picnic area on Golden Square where students can take a picnic.
Tea and coffee making facilities are freely available to students in class, and also a Nespresso coffee machine B.Y.O pods.
Hotels within walking distance- Four Points Flex , Frederick Street Townhouse, Saint Pauls House, Staycity Aparthotels, Travelodge.
There are also many short term apartments available to rent in the JQ.
Accessibility & Safety
The workshop is open 9.30am - 4.30pm for weekly classes.
The workshop is open 10am - 4pm for short courses.
Students are not permitted on the premises during lunch time.
All courses are for 18+
Please Note: Our school is located within a listed Victorian building with an uneven staircase at the entrance. While additional handrails have been installed, access may still be challenging for those with limited mobility.
For safety reasons, we are unable to provide physical assistance on the stairs, and students are not permitted to assist others on entry or exit. This is to ensure no one is put at risk of injury.
