Jewellery Making Level 1 - Building the Foundations

Whether you're completely new to jewellery making or have already attended classes elsewhere, our Level 1 course is designed to give you a solid foundation in traditional jewellery-making skills.

 If you've already done some jewellery making, don't assume that level 1 isn't for you.

 Many people come to us having learned different techniques elsewhere and find that there are gaps in their basic skills.

Level 1 gives you the opportunity to revisit those foundations with guidance from a Master Goldsmith and build a more complete set of bench skills.

On Level 1, You'll learn and practise many of the fundamental techniques of traditional jewellery making including;

soldering, doming, drilling, pattern transfer, saw piercing, metal forming, wire forming, buffing, filing, sizing a ring, wire work, Chain making, learning jewellery tools and how to use correctly & many other hints and tips.

What you'll make:

During the course, you'll put these techniques into practise by making several pieces of jewellery, including a ring, a saw piercing sample, two pairs of earrings, a chain bracelet, and a bangle.

By the end of the course, you'll have developed a solid foundation of bench skills and the confidence to continue making your own jewellery.
