The Jewellery School
The school was opened in 2016, in the heart of Birmingham's famous Jewellery Quarter, in the West Midlands, U.K.
Our mission was to open a jewellery school, that could teach traditional handmade jewellery manufacturing technique's, with the emphasis being hands on practical based learning.
A training centre that can put professional jewellers/goldsmiths into the jewellery trade, with real manufacturing skills, and the commercial know how to do it effectively.
In 2022 we expanded our workshops and moved into a listed building on Vittoria St that was built to house jewellers.
Principal Lecturer
Cassandra Reed is the founder and principal lecturer of the School of Master Jewellers, she has worked as a Master Goldsmith, making fine jewellery and master pattens for; shops, designers, royalty, manufacturers and private commissions for over 35 years.
Cassandra is also a very experienced teacher of 25 years, having also taught part-time at BCU School of Jewellery & Silversmithing for 20 years.
Cassandra is passionate about 'feeding' the U.K's jewellery trade with excellent and highly skilled new craftspeople.
'Its not a job, but a responsibility, to ensure that I pass on the goldsmithing skills, that were passed on to me.'
